Cosmetic Tattoo Removal.

Including eyebrows, lips, Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), tattoo freckles.

Cosmetic tattoos — including brows, eyeliner, lip blush, and scalp micropigmentation (SMP) — use specialised pigments that behave very differently to standard body art inks. These pigments may contain carbon, iron oxides, titanium dioxide, or organic dyes, each with unique challenges when it comes to laser removal. For example, SMP uses tiny deposits of carbon black pigment, which usually responds well to laser, while lip and eyebrow pigments often include blends that may darken (oxidise) temporarily before fading. White, beige, or flesh-toned inks can also darken, requiring careful treatment planning.

This is where the Quanta Discovery Pico makes a real difference. Unlike single-wavelength lasers, the Discovery Pico uses three true laser wavelengths — 1064nm, 532nm, and 694nm (Ruby) — allowing it to specifically target a wide spectrum of colours, even the most stubborn or delicate pigments. The ultra-fast picosecond pulses shatter pigment into microscopic fragments that the body can then clear naturally through the immune and lymphatic systems. This versatility means we can safely and effectively treat tricky pigments such as reds, pinks, and flesh tones, as well as the carbon-based inks typically used in SMP.

During your consultation, we’ll analyse your skin type, tattoo location, and pigment composition to design the safest, most effective treatment plan. Cosmetic tattoo removal is no longer “one-size-fits-all” — it’s a customised, evidence-based process. Sessions usually take place 6–8 weeks apart to allow full healing and clearance between treatments. For comfort, numbing can be applied beforehand, and advanced skin cooling is used during and after treatment to minimise irritation and protect surrounding skin.
